Yves Potvin (Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, 1959) enrolled at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec in 1982 where he studied with Patrick Houdy. In 1987-88 he studied electroacoustic music in Toulouse (France) with Bertrand Dubedout, then in Québec with Yves Daoust and Jean-François Denis. As a winner of the 1991 Bourges Residency International Electroacoustic Music Competition (France) he went to Buenos Aires (Argentina) to work in the LIPM Studios. In 1994, at the invitation of Barry Truax, he experimented with the PODX system at Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada).
