Raúl Minsburg (Argentina, 1965)

Raúl Minsburg was born in 1965 and completed a music degree (including guitar performance) in 1988. He subsequently continued with private studies in instrumental and electroacoustic music. Meanwhile, he took regular courses in philosophy and history at University of Buenos Aires. In 1994 he won the Résidence award of the Bourges Competition with his work El otro espejo and in 1996 his work Voces del recuerdo (composed in the studios of the University of Birmingham) won first prize in the Juan C. Paz Competition in Argentina. In 1997 he received a scholarship from the National Endowment for the Arts to compose Dias depués.

At present he is a professor and researcher at the Univesidad Nacional de Lanús. His music has been performed in various concerts and Festivals Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, United Kingdom, France and the United States including the ninth and tenth Florida Electroacoustic Music Festivals in Gainesville and in the Bienal of Electroacoustic Music of Sao Paolo in Brazil. Some of his works can be found in CD, published by the Universidad Nacional de Lanús and by the Irco label.
