Rasmus Lunding: biography
Rasmus Lunding (Denmark, 1961)
• composer
He started out on the punk and experimental music-scene in the 80’s in Aarhus, Denmark. Lunding released records and played gigs with Picnic, Hunk-A, It’s my Head and Encore+Grande, then he moved on with solo-projects released on CD’s and tape and finally ended up working with sound and music in a hybrid between an artistic expression and as a vehicle for tactile, gestural and creative output within installation-work, design and educational practices. Originally a guitarist and bass player, his focus has gradually shifted towards working with the computer and software as a substitute for instruments and/or as a sound machine in its own right. In the 90’s Lunding released 2 solo CD’s in Denmark with highly acclaimed material: “A Traveller’s Guide to Home”, songs based on sounds recorded by Lunding in India and Nepal and “Pidi & Pollik”, songs based on recordings of baby sounds, carefully orchestrated.
