Ingrid Drese first studied piano, chamber music, history of music and musical analysis. She then enrolled in the course of electroacoustic composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, then in Mons (teacher: Annette Vande Gorne). In 1994 she was a first prizewinner at the Conservatory. Parrallel to her composing activities, she teaches piano. She participated in the development of a course in electroacoustic music for the Music Academy in Soignies (Belgium). She was invited to the studios of the Groupe de musique expérimentale de Marseille (GMEM) and she had the opportunity to participate in an exchange Quebec/Belgium in 1996. Winner of the electroacoustic composition competition of the of the Royal Academy in Belgium, 1997. Second Prize in the Noroit-Léonce Petitot international competition (Arras, France, 1998). In July 1998, she was awarded a post-graduate diploma at the Conservatoire royal de Musique de Mons (Belgium). Her music has been played at several festivals in Belgium and abroad.
