Lars-Gunnar Bodin: biography

Lars-Gunnar Bodin (Stockholm, Sweden, 1935)
• composer

Lars-Gunnar Bodin was one of the first Swedes to draw attention to the possibilities computer technology offered for the development for pictorial art in the 60s and the 70s. But above all he was a pioneer of electroacoustic music - primarily self-taught as a composer, he has also functioned as an administrator, inspirator and a enthusiastic radio-presenter. For 11 years he was the director of EMS ion Stockholm (1978-89). His electroacoustic music has oftened formed a part of major productions including song, dance and pictorial projections. A recurrent motif in these compositions is the vision of a future “zero-landscape” a post-catastrophic world with strong elements of desert, petrification and powerfully determined sequences of events.
